Android-powered devices now have a central 'Market' that will be used for application installers. http://androidcommunity.com/android-market-confirmed-no-app-checking-by-google-20080828/ Google smartly decided to call it a 'market' rather than a store to try to give it that 'open' feeling for developers to provide content, content which will not need approval from Google before being posted. There are several screenshots in the link above.

Google is taking a more hands-off approach to application distribution than, say, may be Apple. Developers will merely need to register an account, upload their content and publish it, with no validation from Google themselves. A rating system will be used to weed out lesser titles and, presumably malware and viruses.

Wow, I never figured I'd ever need to be negitive about Apple or, elude to Google distibuting malware or viruses and that Windows Mobile is more secure than the iPgone 2.0.2 firmware all in one week. What's next cats and dogs sleeping together, chaos and, anarchy.
